Hello all! Well, my birthday has come and gone. When, exactly, am I supposed to start feeling like an adult? At what age is that supposed to happen? Yuck. Getting older sucks. But, ya know what DIDN'T suck? My birthday! It's funny, the older I get, the less I want to go out and celebrate. So, instead of having a fancy meal out, I puppy-proofed the townhome, and ate yummy birthday cake that my sweet boyfriend made for me. NOTE: Don't even bother trying to see how many candles are on it. When you reach a certain age, it's just not cool watching your birthday cake set ablaze due to an overabundance of candle "years". Hence, only 3 candles.
As for my gorgeous stash of vintage wallpaper, that was a HUGE surprise! My best friend, Mindy, attended some sort of vintage paper and ephemera convention, in California. Well, she never mentioned how it went, if she liked it, etc. So, naturally, I just assumed she didn't go. I WAS WRONG! Around 1:00 in the afternoon, there was a knock on my door, and a large package was sitting in front of it. I was perlexed. I didn't recall ordering anything, and couldn't imagine that someone would send me something. Again, I WAS WRONG! Feast your eyes upon these lovely ladies!
Oh.....I LOVE me some vintage wallpaper! And that little stinker, Mindy, blatantly lied to me! She told me that she was only sending a card that she made. L-I-A-R! Truthfully, it's too hard to even pretend that I'm mad about it, because all I keep thinking about is drawing on it. So, thank you to my little Mindy-Lou-Who, for my fab-u-lous birthday present. My bestie-best friend, whom I miss sooooooooooooooooooo terribly!!!!!!!! Love you! (Oh, and get your ass home for a normal visit! We need to have quality time!)
And lastly, my fur covered birthday present! Everyone, meet Bonny. Or, Bon-Bon, as I call her. She has been here for less than 24 hours, and it already feels like a life time! Ummm...was anyone else aware of the fact that puppies tinkle? Like, seriously? A lot? Okay, cause I thought they were sort of like cats, and went just a few times a day. Yea...I was wrong. However, we have managed to get her outside about 60% of the time. It's that other 40% that has me racing around with paper towels and a bottle of Resolve.
But, I guess that's to be expected. Other than that, she's been such a peach. She LOVES her cage. LOVES it! Which is actually pretty funny, considering she made quite the fuss last night when we put her in there for the night. She whined and howled for 15 minutes, and then was out like a light. As for today, we left her cage door open, and now she goes in there on her own when she wants to sleep! What a good girl! It does look pretty comfy in there..piled high with blankets, a dog bed, and 4 toys. I was hoping to get some better pictures of her, but she's still in that sleepy phase, and it's impossible to make her sit still with her eyes open. Maybe in a few more days I'll catch a few.
Okay, my lovelies. I am off to work on another drawing, which I'm actually looking forward to. It's another "Inspiration Board" illustration, but I REALLY like the color palette. I think I'm going to attempt to do it with PrismaColor markers, instead of watercolor. I know. I'm so wild and crazy. First a puppy, now this. Possible mid-life crisis?

Thank you, Miss Ruth/Super Woman! How you managed to have a toddler, PLUS 2 dogs, is beyond me. I haven't even had time to draw anything since getting her! How the hell do you do it all? You totally rock.

Thank you so much, Miss Georgia! Yes, the wallpaper is fab-u-lous! I'm such a sucker for it. It was such a nice present! And thanks for the puppy comment. She is awfully cute, but she is a HANDFUL! No wonder I had kitties throughout my entire life! I love her to pieces, though. ;)

Awwww...thank you so much, Anna! Yes, the wallpaper is to die for! I'm so excited to start playing with it. And speaking of playing, Bonny is a doll, isn't she? That little face is so kissable! I'll let her know that you think she is the cutest...although I can't promise that she will understand me. ;)
